It tells me when i get an email. It helps me keep up with my friends on social networks like facebook, Twitter, and Myspace(if anyone uses that any more). I can play games. Not just by myself but with friends or random people all over the world. There is a market place where you can get apps to help you do stuff. For example find your way with a navigation system, listen to music, or check the weather. You can also look stuff up on the internet no matter where you are. i have found it really useful when talking to my friends and trying to prove something I can just look it up and find the answer. The first thing is what do I use it for? If you plan on playing games like Skyrim, or Crisis 2 maxed; you better get ready to eat romen for a few months. The top of the line Nvidia and ATi cards go for around 700$. This includes the 6990 by ATi and gtx 590. The next question is if you game of do video editing or of coarse neither. The gaming one I already mentioned but if you video edit the quadro series. That can run for over a thousand dollars. But when it comes down to it it's the price that really matters.

You can buy a great card for 200$ that will last you years. It won't max every game but for mow it will run things on high with decent FPS. In the end you can buy a gtx 560 or a 6870 and have a good card for that 200$ range.

Gtx 590 vs HD 6990 in just cause 2

HDD prices sky rocket

This is some what old news but in Taiwan was flooded. That has caused almost all of the prices to go through the roof.

The prices from this summer are around 80 dollars for a 1tb drive. Now it's about 150. This is a great time for SSD's to take over the market but we have still not seen much fluxuation in price from them. It is expected to have production of the drives to start sometime around January. But if you are now building you need an operating system. But I have been hearing not so good things about this CPU. Sure the FX line has integrated graphics. but lets face it if you are going build your own computer then you WILL be buying and GPU. It is fast with around the 3 and half ghz mark. But you will no see most of it.

People say it is slow and heats up to much. It is doged down by the way they make 6 cores and split two of them so it acts like an 8core. Which it does. It really was the Worlds first 8 core desktop processor. But lets face it for under 300 dollars you shouldn't buy an 8 core. I know that Intel is expensive but there 6 core is over a thousand dollars. If it wasn't marked up by the name then it could still go for twice what the new Amd's go for.

In all reality let's face it Sandy bridge is a way better hing to invest in. But in no way am I an Intel fan boy. At the moment I am running one of the best CPU's I have had; the Phenom ll x4 980 black O.C. @ 3.9ghz stable. But if you are just browsing the internet you could get away with about 2gb.

At the moment I have 8gb of G skill sniper 1600mhz DDR3. It is serving me well and has always been a great company I can rely on. Most games are using at most 2gb; If that. And I also enjoy being able to ALT- TAB out of games and look up things or be able to listen to music, have the internet open, and be in game at the same time with out freezing my computer and waiting 2 minutes for it to load.

But in the end it is up to you. If you want to multitask more than internet surfing and word docs at the same time; go for a least 4gb and if you want to play demanding games get around 6bg. It will let you will be able to do what you want and when you want. And anything over 12gb, unless you are video editing and or rendering things in 1080P then it is over kill and will most likely never use more.

My RAM.

ATi vs. Nvidia

Hello readers of this blog post. Today I will talk about the pros and cons of ATi and Nvidia GPUs. These are the only Gpu's that you can buy. I have always wondered why someone hasn't come into the market to compete. Maybe because they are such huge companies but someone like Samsung could pull it off if they tried.

At the moment the only thing that's different between them is that ones main logo color is green and one is red. The price are the same to excluding the Mars2. This beast has two gtx580's in it and costs a whopping 1500$ It is the worlds fastest graphics card but the price is not worth it. Other then that ATi's 6990 is comparable to the gtx590. it just goes down the list one less powerful card competing with the other companies less powerful card. It is a marathon; but the two star athletes are always neck and neck and the race never ends.

Water Cooling vs. Air cooling

There are two questions at hand right now. The first is what you will be doing. The second is the price you will pay. With out a question of a doubt a water cooled computer is way better than any air cooled. It's quite, gets better temps, and is way better looking.

I know for a fact that not everyone will agree with me. Sure with a hundred dollar air cooler you can get within 1-2 degrees of a water cooler. But with that cooler many things can happen. With a Noctua NH-D14 (shown below) it can bend or even break a board. It weighs 2.7 lbs!! It is 160 x 140 x 158mm!! You will need at least a full tower case for that. And if you plan to put in in a mid tower and it fits say good bye to a top exhaust fan. If in the beginning you want to go for air cooling because it was just as good and cheaper your wrong!

Noctua NH-D14

Water cooled system

Personally I believe the water cooled PC looks better and cleaner then the air cooler. The other thing it will be silent and and not let heat in the case. Everything is blown out the back or top. Unlike the air cooler where it is all internal and will have heat drift off of it and sit in the case.

I know everything I have said is that water cooling is better. But if you are on a budget and are not rolling in money go for air cooling. It does a great job still and you can still eat the rest of the month. If you have tons of money to blow on an awesome gaming computer than go for water cooling and show it off.

New Carbide Series Cases from Corsair

I remember the day that Corsair first in introduced the amazing 600T mid tower atx case. This is the case that proved that not only can they make awesome hardware but now the box that surrounds it.

The release of the Carbide series cases is being called the budget case that they now offer. There is the 400r and the 500r; I have personally already ordered the 400r case. This is for many reasons. First the 400 is only about half an inch give or take smaller than the 500. Also they both have very good rubber gromits in them for easy hiding if cables and a pushed out area behind the motherboard for all of the cables to hide easily with out a lot of trouble. So ask your self do you want a case that is $30 more for the same case or one that you keep money in your pocket.

400r

500r also comes in all black

The 400r case only starts at a hundred bucks and is easiy a 150 dollar case.
